Because sometimes shit needs to be addressed.

Because some fights need to happen, and need to be hung into with tooth and nail against all odds because it’s fucking IMPORTANT.

Because if we all just forget shit and move on, that shit never gets better. If we don’t confront people about their shit behavior, that’s tacit approval of said behavior. History forgotten is doomed to repeat itself.

Forgetting shit and moving on is a coping mechanism, and sometimes it’s the only way to stay ok. There’s nothing wrong with choosing to do it. No one should tell you that you’re wrong for choosing to do so.

But it’s a choice that every individual needs to make about every fight.

It’s not something that can be given as blanket advice or prescribed behavior.

Because while sometimes ‘letting go’ is the thing that will let you sleep at night? Sometimes NOT letting go is the thing that gives you a reason to keep on going at all.

So fuck this advice.

Don’t let it go. Don’t move on. Don’t be content with always ‘being the better person’.

Make them see your anger and your hurt.

Don’t give up unless you want to. Don’t let anyone tell you to let something go or forget it or that it’s not important, if it’s important to you.
