Buttercup Buildup

I’ve basically given up on Fatshion February, because by time I get home from work, the last thing I want to do it take pictures of me and I don’t have time in the morning.
But! Here’s a pic of me wearing a Pin-Up Girl dress that a coworker lent me. I’m SO glad I borrowed this instead of buying one! The description and pictures on the PUG site are incredibly misleading. “rich cotton sateen”? No, it’s craft cotton. I make a lot of dresses out of craft cotton, so I don’t mind garments out of that fabric, but I was expecting a much, much higher quality fabric. And the construction was very simple, serged edges with black thread (should have been yellow, white or orange). There’s nothing necessarily wrong with this dress, but I was shocked at how low-grade the garment was, given how crazy people go for PUG, and how expensive their stuff is. I mean, I can  make something much nicer on my own.
Plus, the sizing was weird. Given the dimensions, the 2X should fit me perfectly. But it was a real work out to squeeze my ass into this dress and then I was swimming in the top.
So boo to PUG, I’ll save my money and make my own dresses that fit! With matching thread.
